26km Freestyle Great Bear Chase

Skate SkierThe 26 km freestyle provides an excellent end-of-season goal for serious racers and mainstream recreational skiiers alike. Many master skiers use this as a season-ending endurance test. Recreational skiiers enjoy the 26km freestyle because of the relaxed Bear Chase atmosphere and the forgiving course.

The 26 km skiiers start 20 minutes after the 50 km race goes off. The course climbs the sledding hill at the Swedetown Chalet about 1km into the race. The next 7 km is relatively flat, with a downhill trend. Skiers begin the next 4km, a steady uphill, just before reaching the first aid station. After the steady uphill, the course features rolling terrain with a flat straghtaway into the finish.

The Great Bear Chase features chip timing and results are posted as races finish.
