2008 Great Bear Chase Schedule

Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00 am on Sunday, March 9, the day of the Great Bear Chase. Calumet is on Eastern time. So, you folks from the Central time zone will contend with a time zone change and an act of Congress. Come and ski anyway . . .

Great Bear Chase t-shirts will be distributed at bib pick-up. Skiers will also receive a new map and updated information.

Saturday, March 8  

Noon-8 p.m.

Registration/Bib pick-up, Cross Country Sports, 507 Oak Street, Calumet

11-1 p.m.

Junior Bear Chase, Michigan Tech Trails, Houghton

4-8 p.m.

CLK Rotary Spaghetti Supper, Calumet High School Multi-Purpose Room

Spaghetti, spaghetti w/ meat or veggie sauce, salad w/dressings, rolls/bread w/butter, juice, coffee. Ticket prices: $8.50 for ages 12 and older, $5.00 under 12.

Bib pickup. No race day registration. Cross Country Sports, 507 Oak Street, Calumet

8:40 a.m.

Start of 26Km Classic

9:00 a.m.

Start of 50 Km Freestyle

9:20 a.m.

Start of 26 Km Freestyle

10:00 a.m.

Calumet High School opens for showers, lockers, free lunch

2:00 p.m.
